Race Day Information

2021 Belleville Main Street Marathon

Saturday, September 25

Course

The race begins and ends on Main Street between Illinois 159 and and First Street in historic downtown Belleville, IL, and for the 2021 race, the course will primarily be held on the St. Clair County Transit District's paved biking/walking trail. At this time the course has not been certified, and we are exploring that option. This is an open course on open roads and trails. Participants must be at mile 13 by 10:23 AM or they will be transported by an official race vehicle to another point on the course and allowed to cross the finish line with an unofficial time and to receive a finisher medal.

Packet Pickup

Packet pickup will take place:

10 AM to 7 PM Friday, September 24, at Toolen’s Running Start, 3260 Green Mount Crossing Drive, Shiloh, IL 62269.

5:30 to 6:30 AM Saturday, September 25, at the corner of Main Street and First Street near the start line.

Hydration

**Hydration will look a little different this year to enhance safety for participants and volunteers as a result of COVID-19. Runners are asked to provide their own hydration and fuel (ie, energy gels) to minimize exposure among participants and volunteers. We will provide a few water stops along the course for refilling water bottles from 5-gallon jugs. As COVID-19 guidelines change, we may make adjustments to course support. Please check back for updates.

Restrooms

Porta-potties/restrooms will be located at the start/finish line area and near all water stations.

Medical officials are prepared to treat injuries that may occur during this event. St. Elizabeth’s Hospital is providing a medical tent and personnel at the start/finish line area and on the course. In addition, medical personnel will be located throughout the course.
