2021 Belleville Main Street Marathon
Saturday, September 25
The race begins and ends on Main Street between Illinois 159 and and First Street in historic downtown Belleville, IL, and for the 2021 race, the course will primarily be held on the St. Clair County Transit District's paved biking/walking trail. UPDATE: The course will be officially certified. This is an open course on open roads and trails. Participants must be at mile 13 by 10:23 AM or they will be transported by an official race vehicle to another point on the course and allowed to cross the finish line with an unofficial time and to receive a finisher medal.
Packet pickup will take place:
10 AM to 7 PM Friday, September 24, at Toolen’s Running Start, 3260 Green Mount Crossing Drive, Shiloh, IL 62269.
5:30 to 6:30 AM Saturday, September 25, at the corner of Main Street and First Street near the start line.
The 2021 course will include 8 water stations that will be located at about every 1.5 to 2 miles on the course. Gu will be available at miles 10, 15, and 20.9.
Porta-potties/restrooms will be located at the start/finish line area and near all water stations.
All race finishers will receive a medal at the finish line. Awards for the top 3 male and female, male and female Master’s, and male and female wheelchair finishers will be presented at 11 a.m. in the marathon plaza area just east of the finish line. Age group awards will be presented around 1 p.m. in the marathon plaza area. Awards will not be mailed but can be picked up at Toolen’s Running Start after October 2.
Post-race refreshments include a meal from Belleville's award-winnng BEAST Craft BBQ, beverages by Grey Eagle Distributors in Belleville, and other goodies from local businesses.
Event Medical Support
Medical officials are prepared to treat injuries that may occur during this event. HSHS St. Elizabeth’s Hospital is providing a medical tent and personnel at the start/finish line area and on the course. In addition, medical personnel will be located throughout the course.

Online registration closes September 23, but you may register in person at Toolen's Running Start through September 24; during packet pickup; or on race day morning at South First and Main Streets in Belleville, IL, from 5:30 to 6:30 AM.
The Streaker Award
Participants who ran EACH of the 4 past IN-PERSON Belleville Main Street Marathons (2016-2019) will be recognized with our commemorative Streaker Award. The award will be available at packet pickup.
