Saturday September 28th. Both Full and Half Marathon runners start at 7:00am
Volunteer Check-In will be at W. 1st and Main St. If you are part of a group intersection only one person is required to check in and pick up race day items.
If you have helped before and would like to be placed at a particular intersection, please email us (volunteer@bellevillemarathon.com). We will do our best to place you at that intersection (or as close as possible).
If you have a larger group and would like to be placed as close together as possible, please let us know and we can work together to get your route assigned locations close to one another. Other group volunteer opportunities are also available.
On the course our volunteers will help ensure the safety of our runners by monitoring the area you are covering. Depending on your location you may also be directing runners at a turn or asking traffic to stop until runners pass. Please see the Course Volunteer Information link for more details.
Finish Area volunteers will help in a variety of ways like food/beverage help, finish line chute, medals, set up and clean up
Individual locations are located at intersections without much traffic and in color zones where the expected time needed is 4 hours or less.
Group intersections are intersections with turns or more traffic. We also have groups at intersections which require coverage for more than 5 hours to allow for potty breaks or other breaks if needed.
Start with the time slot that works best for you and then sign up under that color zone on the course. You will be assigned a specific location before race day. Please email us and we’d be happy to help you through (volunteer@bellevillemarathon.com).
The race will go on no matter the weather (except in cases of severe weather). So that means you should be prepared for the weather of the day! It is also helpful to bring a chair, shade items, sunscreen, water and a snack. Also, any fun items to cheer on the runners 🙂
You will receive more information on what to bring prior to race day as well.
Once locations are assigned, each course volunteer will be emailed general information about what is expected of our course volunteers as well as details on your assigned location within the zone you chose.
