
Course
The marathon will start at 7 AM on Main Street just west of the Public Square between Illinois 159 and First Street in downtown Belleville, and course support will be available until 2 PM. This is an open course on open roads, and participants must be at mile 13 by 10:23 AM or they will be transported by an official race vehicle to another point on the course and allowed to cross the finish line with an unofficial time and to receive a finisher medal.
Packet Pickup
Packet pickup will take place Friday, September 27 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Toolen’s Running Start, 3260 Green Mount Crossing Drive, Shiloh, IL 62269.
Late Packet Pickup and Registration
Packet pickup and on-site race-day registration will be available near the start/finish line around south 1st and Main streets from 5:30 to 6:30 a.m. on race morning.
Hydration
Water and lemon-lime Gatorade will be available approximately every 1 to 2 miles.
Restrooms
Porta-potties/restrooms will be located at the start/finish line area and near all water stations.
Energy Gel
GU stations will be located near miles 12, 18, and 21.
Medical
Medical officials are prepared to treat injuries that may occur during this event. St. Elizabeth’s Hospital is providing a medical tent and personnel at the start/finish line area and on the course. In addition, medical personnel will be located throughout the course.
Parking
All participants/volunteers/spectators are strongly encouraged to park in the FREE St. Clair County parking garage, located at 1 Lincoln Street, which is conveniently located about a block from the start/finish line.
Finisher Medals/Awards
All race finishers will receive a medal at the finish line. Awards for the top 3 male and female, male and female Master’s, and male and female wheelchair finishers will be presented at 11 a.m. in the marathon plaza area just east of the finish line. Age group awards will be presented around 1 p.m. in the marathon plaza area. Awards will not be mailed but can be picked up at Toolen’s Running Start after October 2.
Post-Race Refreshments
After the race, hang around, relax, refuel, and celebrate your finish with award-winning, nationally acclaimed barbecue and fixins’ donated by Belleville’s very own BEAST Craft BBQ, and Michelob Ultra, donated by Belleville’s Grey Eagle Distributors. Yum!
The Streaker Award
Participants who ran ALL 3 of the past Belleville Main Street Marathons (2016-2018) will be recognized with our commemorative Streaker Award. The award will be available at packet pickup.
